What is success?

What is success to you? What does it look like and what does it mean?

Reflecting on Roger Federer's 2024 Commencement Address at Dartmouth University (see link in the comments below), where the 20-time Grand Slam winner shared insights on his journey to greatness. Despite winning over 80% of matches, he won only 54% of points played, highlighting the power of resilience.

Federer emphasised that success hinges on perspective, and in his world it was always about "just a point" - a lesson to move forward whether you win it or lose it. The road to success isn't smooth; it requires vision, goal-setting, planning, and perseverance through challenges.

Success is personal; it's about setting your goals and reflecting on your journey's end. It's a blend of hard work, determination, and a sprinkle of luck. Recognising and celebrating success is essential, tailored to your standards - a sentiment echoed by athletes like Usain Bolt, for whom only gold signified true success.

As you navigate your path to success, remember, it's not just about winning points but about learning from each one. Define your goals, stay focused, and keep pushing forward.
